● Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Deadline: November 15
Amount: Varies. The same application may also make you eligible at the state and national levels.
Requirements: High school senior and U.S. citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

● Berkshire Bank Scholarship
Deadline: March 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Requirements: GPA of 3.0 (85) or above, pursuing a two- or four-year degree from an accredited non-profit college or technical school, gross family annual income under $100,000

Requirements: Acceptance into an academic program in the healthcare field

Amount: $5,000
Requirements: Must have been accepted into college in an Engineering Technology field.

Requirements: All students are eligible. Factors taken into consideration include character, community service, academic accomplishments, and financial need.

● Federated Church Scholarship

Requirements: All AMHS seniors are eligible to apply. Applicant is chosen based on achievement, community service, educational goals, and financial need.

● Stratton Foundation College Scholarship
Deadline: April 15
Amount: $3,000. Possibility of further funding in later years with documentation.
Requirements: Must qualify for free or reduced lunch or other fee waivers, demonstrate academic achievement, have a teacher recommendation, be planning to attend an accredited school full-time, and reside within the Stratton Foundation area.

● Miles Lumber Company Scholarship
Deadline: April 25
Amount: $500 (awarded to two seniors)
Requirements: GPA of 80 or higher, extra-curricular activities, community service

Requirements: Planning to attend a four-year college to prepare for a career in a healthcare field.

Amount: $1,000
Requirements: Member of the Christ Our Savior Parish in Manchester and planning to attend a four-year college.

Amount: $1,500 for each year of study
Requirements: Be a resident of Arlington, Sunderland, or Sandgate and be seeking further education in nursing or another health related field.

Amount: $500
Requirements: Students must be a resident of Arlington, Sunderland, or Sandgate and be seeking further education in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, nursing, or teaching.

● Joe Corey Memorial Scholarship Award
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $2,500
Requirements: Must have received a varsity letter in any sport.

● John Werner Soccer Scholarship
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $100 awarded to one girl and one boy.
Requirements: Student must have played varsity soccer at AMHS and have shown a strong work ethic, academic success and good sportsmanship. The student does NOT have to play soccer in college.

● Red Mountain Lodge #63 F&AM
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $1,000 if awarded to one student; $500 if awarded to two students.
Requirements: Any student who has not already received a full scholarship is eligible to apply.

● William H. Burrington Scholarship / Bennington County Farm Bureau
Deadline: May 1
Amount: TBA
Requirements: Student must reside in Bennington County and have been accepted at a college or other school to study agriculture, forestry, agronomy, or an environmental program.

● Stratton Foundation Todd Richter First-Generation Scholarship
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $2,000. Possibility of further funding in later years with documentation.
Requirements: Must be a first-generation college student, qualify for free or reduced lunch or other fee waivers, and reside within the Stratton Foundation area.

● Stratton Foundation Wheeler First-To-College Scholarship
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $7,500. Possibility of also receiving the award in the second year of college, with documentation.
Requirements: Must be the first in their family to pursue post-secondary education, be in the top 20% of their class or a high-honors student, demonstrate financial need, attend a school within the Stratton Foundation area, and be planning to go to a tech/trade school, 2-year college, or 4-year college.

Requirements: Preference is given to students seeking further education in an environmental field, but anyone may apply.

● American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship
Deadline: March 1
Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: The student must be a child, step-child, grandchild, or step-grandchild of a Veteran eligible for Legion membership.

● American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members
Deadline: March 1
Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: Applicant must have been a Junior Member of the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three years, and must remain a member for the current year and all four years of the scholarship period. Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA and be of good character.

● New England Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (NEACRAO)
Deadline: March 1
Amount: $2,000
Eligibility: Plan to attend a NEACRAO member college; Strong academic performance, perseverance, and a compelling personal story or unique achievement.

● Vermont Lions Club Hart Memorial Award
Deadline: March 8
Amount: one $1,000 scholarship; two $500 scholarships.
Requirements: The student must have a disability or debilitating illness (physical or psychological) and have financial need.

● The Knights of Columbus Vermont State Council Scholastic Achievement Awards
Deadline: March 10
Amount: five $1,000 scholarships available (two are merit-based)
Eligibility: You must be the child (paternal or legally adopted) of a member of the VT KOC. Children of deceased members are also eligible. Seniors who belong to the VT KOC themselves are also eligible.

● Vermont-NEA (National Education Association) Maida F. Townsend Scholarship
Deadline: March 15
Amount: $1,000 (merit-based)
Eligibility: You must be a son or daughter of a Vermont-NEA (teachers’ union) member.

● Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service
Deadline: March 14 at noon
Amount: $2,000 to one senior in Vermont
Requirements: academic achievement, leadership, service to the community, and initiative in overcoming a specific challenge

Eligibility: All high school juniors and seniors are eligible. You must complete a project on organ donation, as described in the application.

● VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity
Deadline: April 1
Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: You must be a first-generation college student or a Native American, and you must be planning to attend a Vermont college or university to study science, technology, engineering, or math.

Deadline: April 1
Amount: $500 for the first semester, $500 for the second semester.
Requirements: Must have taken four semesters of high school computers or business courses. Must plan to pursue office-related business education.

● Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary Department of Vermont Youth Incentive Scholarship
Deadline: April 1
Amount: varies
Eligibility: Open to all senior girls who are VFW Auxiliary members or are related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member in good standing. The applicant must be in the top third of the graduating class and be able to show proof of acceptance to an accredited college, vocational, or technical school.

● Sons of the American Legion Dennis Comai Scholarship
Deadline: April 15
Amount: Two scholarships are awarded in southern Vermont (one for $1,000 and one for $500)
Eligibility: You must be planning to attend a technical college or trade school.
You must also be related (biologically or by legal adoption) to a member of the American Legion Family (American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion). The relative must be a parent, grandparent, step-parent, step-grandparent, brother, or sister.

Amount: $1,000
Requirements: The student must be a child, step-child, grandchild, or step-grandchild of a Veteran eligible for Legion membership.

Amount: $2,000
Eligibility: Be a member of the Vermont Federal Credit Union (or join by April 18), be accepted to a full-time program at a college, trade school, or university.

Amount: Ten $1,500 scholarships
Eligibility: You must be an employee or the dependent of an employee/owner of a company that is a member of the VRGA. The employee must work a minimum of 15 hours per week or 750 hours per year and have been employed at a VGA retail member store for a minimum of one year.

● League of Women Voters of Vermont
Deadline: May 1
Amount: $1,500
Eligibility: Vermont resident, demonstrated interest in civic participation and community service, financial need, teacher recommendation

● Members Advantage Community Credit Union/River Valley Credit Union
Deadline: May 3
Amount: $500 - $1,000
Eligibility: You (or a relative) must be a member of Members Advantage Community Credit Union or River Valley Credit Union.

● Vermont Golf Association
Deadline: May 3
Amount: $1,000 per year of college
Eligibility: You must have a current active affiliation with the game of golf and demonstrate financial need.

● The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship (a New England-wide scholarship)
Deadline: May 3 at 12:00 p.m. (special early deadline of April 2 at 12:00 p.m.)
Amount: $3,000 - $10,000 annually
Requirements: 3.0 GPA or higher, be enrolled in demanding courses, demonstrate skilled writing ability, work part-time, demonstrate financial need, be involved in school and community activities

● American Legion Auxiliary Past Presidents Parley Nurses Scholarship
Deadline: May 6
Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: You must be the child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a veteran. You must be entering college for a degree in nursing (RN or LPN).

● Scott Campitelli Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: May 10
Amount: up to $2,000
Eligibility: You must reside in VT and be pursuing higher education in communications, media, or a related field. You must demonstrate academic achievement and school/community involvement.

Graduate Information
Typically 80% of AMHS students are college-bound. Of that 80%, 60% enroll at four-year colleges and 20% attend a two-year college. The non-college-bound students begin military services, enroll in specialized employment programs (trade schools) or enter the world of work.
